Tomorrow Tree Institute
Tomorrow Tree Institute was a non profit institute I founded and led from 2020 to 2024.
During its lifetime, the institute operated in a time of crisis. The Coronavirus pandemic was in full swing and the Russian Federation began conducting a special military operation in Ukraine.
Despite some success such as the procurement of scientific reforestation research for the DPRK (North Korea) as well as the design and programming of a prototype of a decentralized reforestation SCAO (Smart Contract Assisted Organization) Tomorrow Tree Institute ultimately failed in light of international pressure.
Operating Tomorrow Tree was difficult; in the hardship, we were forced to innovate and thus the ideas of a SCAO, as well as how smart contracts could be used in geopolitics were born.
I would like to re-establish the project and continue Tomorrow Tree in the future if more resources become available.
Vision
We envisioned humanity not only surviving the climate and mass extinction crises, but thriving from the lessons nature could teach us.
Back in my student days in 2017, I partook in an adventurous tourist trip to DPR Korea (North Korea).
It had been a powerful experience that significantly changed my viewpoint on life in a remarkably short amount of time.
I found myself re-evaluating our world, thinking about it and the human experience on a deeper level than ever before, feeling a strong sense of responsibility to make a positive contribution to global society.
Upon much consideration and with the help of my new Korean friends, we determined that an afforestation project would be the best contribution, and in February of 2020, Tomorrow Tree Institute had been founded.
Mission
Our mission was to build the bonds between humans and nature; consequently building the bonds between humans and humans.

The Global Shift
We’ve soon realized that there is a global need for stronger support of local grass – roots level afforestation and climate protection initiatives.
In 2022, we’ve programmed a prototype solution for global projects using the help of blockchain technology. The prototype morphed into the SCAO (Smart Contract Assisted Organization) idea.
It wasn’t a good time to start. Mere days after the paperwork was complete, we were locked down for the first time and almost everything that could go wrong, did go wrong: Our initial director stepped down within days, our Korean Forestry Delegation’s trip to Slovenia was cancelled, our tourism reliant business plan failed and it was very difficult to find partners and funding.
Moreover, the global mood shifted dramatically; tensions rose and for a period, the very fabric of society felt unraveling as people withdrew inwards.
There was a real possibility we would fail and have to abandon the project, but thanks to a combination of working long hours with an iron will, amazing support from a variety of key individuals, and my private investment in Bitcoin Tomorrow Tree was lucky enough to survive.

The End
The global landscape changed significantly in 2022 when Russia began it’s special military operation in Ukraine. Tomorrow Tree, already struggling, encountered international pressure and was given a recommendation to cease operations.
In addition to the pressure, I personally struggled with some things in my private life, and in light of the situation, I decided to temporarily close down Tomorrow Tree, though I always expressed a wish to continue the reforestation SCAO especially in the future.
