Universal Basic Income

Without going deep into it - off the top of my head - looking at it purely from a supply and demand perspective: Universal Basic Income seems like a terrible idea. I am open to being wrong on this, but considering even our existing welfare system looks frighteningly like a giant Ponzi scheme that may come down crashing and burning any day now… it - off the top of my head - generally seems like a terrible idea.

Yet, the idea of UBI is worth exploring deeper for the potential it could bring:

One of the things that impresses me most about the blockchain space is the idea of paying people to learn. Contrast this to the traditional education(prison) system that audaciously demands you to pay them...

If we want to have a conversation about Universal Basic Income, I think the only way UBI could work is if we incentivized / paid people to learn in return for money.

The people could then use this knowledge and capital to actually be productive, contribute something positive to the plight of humanity, and not spend all of it on only “stupid shit” like artificially inflated brands & pointless consumerism.
